This darling nightstand was handmade by artisan craftsman in France somewhere around 1860-1870 in the Louis XV style. Gorgeous patina and inlays surround the carved walnut. Featuring a very smooth operating drawer and a door that opens to a marble lined cabinet. The top of this piece is adorned by a serpentine shaped Rouge Royal marble inset. Description of wear from age: Two pieces of the marble lining are missing from inside the cabinet and the vaneer on the inside of the door has some damage. I believe two pieces from the decorative scroll patterns on the door may be missing as well. The marble top was repaired at some point. Now, all that being said, this is a wonderful antique piece with many years left. Everything functions as it's supposed to, the body is solid and strong and very well kept. less
